Loko Events — Privacy Policy

Loko Events ("Loko", "we", "us") helps people discover, host, and reserve spots at events. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Questions: support@lokoglobal.org.

1. Information we collect

• Account details — your email address or phone number (used to sign in), and your name if you provide one.
• Profile — optional handle, interests, and avatar.
• Events you create — title, description, date/time, venue or "online", city, price, capacity, cover image, and (for paid events) the WhatsApp number you choose to share so attendees can reach you.
• Tickets & activity — events you reserve, saved events, and check-in status.
• Your selected city — stored on your device to tailor the feed. We do not collect GPS or precise location.
• Photos — only the image you explicitly pick as an event cover. We do not browse your photo library.
• Safety reports & blocks — if you report an event or block a host, we record that to keep the community safe.

2. How we use it

To create and secure your account, show and run events, issue and scan tickets, connect attendees with hosts of paid events via WhatsApp, review safety reports, and operate and improve the app.

3. How information is shared

• Publicly within the app — events you host (including your host name and any cover image) are visible to other users. Your name/avatar may appear in an attendee list.
• Hosts of paid events — when you tap "Message host on WhatsApp", you open WhatsApp and share what you choose to send there.
• Service providers — we use Supabase for authentication, database, and image storage. We do not sell your personal data.
• Legal — we may disclose information if required by law or to protect users.

4. Data retention & deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Delete account. This removes your profile, the events you host, your tickets, and your saved items. You may also email support@lokoglobal.org to request deletion.

5. Security

Access to data is enforced by row-level security and authenticated sessions. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

6. Children

Loko Events is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). Some events may carry their own age restrictions set by hosts.

7. Changes

We may update this policy and will revise the date above. Continued use means you accept the changes.
